User Ratings and Reviews

1 Stars Seems all of these scopes are canted
Bought one of these scopes locally, when I mounted it I realized the crosshairs were not level, canted about 10 deg to the left.

I returned it and the store tried 3 more new same scopes on different rifles and they all were the same.

I got my money back, but it is such a nice looking scope, I saw the same scope on Amazon wanted to get one and contacted the seller asking him to check the level before shipping it.

He called back the next day and told me he tried 10 of these new scopes on a level surface pointed at a spirit level and their crosshairs were all sloped to the left, he reimbursed me. I called NCStar and they e-mailed me instructions on how to file the bottom of the scope to get it level????

This is amazing how these scopes are not checked before leaving the manufacturing plant, maybe they are checked and sent out anyway.

If you do want one, be sure the seller checks the level.

4 Stars Decent tactical scope for the money
The scope mounted easily on my SIG-556 with no problems. Construction is solid. The quick release functions well. The scope sighted in fine at 100 yards and was clear at all magnifications. Windage and elevation adjustment worked fine. I was able to achieve 2-3″ groups with inexpensive .223 ammo. No problems with the mount loosening through 100 rounds. The scope lost one star because, as mentioned in other reviews, the illumination in either color is too bright at the lowest setting in very low light conditions. Decent tactical scope for the money.

4 Stars So far a four star
Alot of weather variables when I took it out, but scope is very nice looking and seems in working order.

The red/green is great for open eye target aquisition, and I can’t wait to try the drop compensator in conjuntion

with the zoom.

So far nc star is a great buy for anyone on a budget.

1 Stars Reject!
Got this scope and the box and other packaging looked good. Examining the scope was another story. The large female threads at the front of the scope that hold the optics retaining ring were galled and damaged. Looking through the scope, the cross hairs were not square to the body. The cross hairs were rotated a few degrees off of vertical with no way to adjust them. This made the unit unusable and I returned it the next day. Looked to me as if it was returned then resold to me. Total P.O.S.

2 Stars Good Scope, Bad Mount
I bought this scope after reading positive reviews from other customers. I was using it on an AR15 / A2. I have a rail mount on the carry handle, and wanted the quick release so I could take it on and off. The problem isn’t the scope. It’s the mount. I haven’t used the scope at the range, so I have no opinion on how well it holds up. I can tell you that the lenses are clear and very bright. The illunination is good too. The quick release mount is the problem. There is a spring loaded side of the mount where the quick release lever is. There is too much play between the moving side, and the rest of the mount. Once the mount is properly tightened, there is an up and down rocking of the scope. I would think that under the recoil of a rifle, the scope would loosten up. If you have an A2 type AR15, and want to use this scope, buy the one with the carry handle mount. I will be returning this to Amazon.
